First Holy Communion - Our Class of 2025

We have a wonderful group of children this year who are working towards their First Communion Mass on Saturday 21st June.

There are 11 children in all, aged between 7 and 11 years old - some from St. Thomas and some from St. John. We have a weekly class where the children learn about the Bible and their faith. We say prayers together, sing, chat, draw pictures and eat cake and biscuits.

Earlier this year the children shared their thoughts on what they knew about Jesus.

Here are some of their ideas:

  • Jesus loves everyone.
  • He fed 5,000 hungry people.
  • He never lied.
  • He knows all languages.
  • He healed people.
  • He changed water into wine.
  • He forgives everyone, even when he was dying on the cross.
  • He taught people.
  • He made dead people come to life, including himself.
  • He learned the Old Testament when he was a boy.
  • He didn't learn the New testament because he was living it.
  • He walked on water.
  • He is God's son and he is God.

A pretty comprehensive list from a great group of children.

Please pray for them
